Living in the East Midlands
Back to: Our locations home

Our Charnwood site is located in the lively East Midlands region of the U.K where affordable housing, good schools and colleges, excellent shopping and recreational activities are all within easy reach.

The area boasts a wide range of affordable homes, from Victorian townhouses to modern city apartments and traditional rural cottages. Prices are dramatically lower than in some parts of the UK typically an astounding 50% lower than in London and 30% lower than in the South East.  From the rugged Peak District to the wide-open Lincolnshire coastline, the market towns of Newark and Rutland to rapidly expanding Northamptonshire or vibrant Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, the East Midlands area offers real choice and great quality of life opportunity.

The region offers a good education service too, providing relocating families with excellent state schools and an impressive selection of private options, as well as nine well-respected universities. From the tradition of The University of Nottingham generally accepted as one of the top five research universities in the UK to the contemporary, buzzing feel of Leicesters De Montfort,

Whether it's shopping, eating out, cultural pursuits or bar hopping that float your boat, it's all here. The East Midlands offers a rich mix of cultural, creative and sporting activities. From live music to excellent restaurants, café bars and pubs, the East Midlands has an energetic social scene.  Theatres, music venues and comedy clubs pull in big names and the next few years will see new investment transform the regions arts infrastructure.

Step outside the towns and cities and the East Midlands region offers a wealth of beautiful countryside, with opportunities to go hiking, horse riding, mountain biking or just take in the views.

The area also has a dynamic sporting reputation, featuring some of the UK's best golf courses, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, one of the most famous in the world, the National Ice Arena and National Watersports Centre, as well as high-calibre football, ice hockey, rugby union teams and Olympic training facilities.

Strong transport infrastructure combines excellent road, rail, and air links to enable access to the other major business centres of the UK and most of continental Europe.  Travel within the region is also easy.  The major towns and cities in the area have a range of public transport systems with innovative schemes like Nottinghams state-of-the-art trams.
